Driving, waiting, anxious
all these feelings run through me
waiting to see the new member of the family
will he be the dog for me
Thinking all these things
are starring to get to me
Cant wait anymore.
where on the road, ready to go
Three hours, Two hours, One
slowly moving like this time will never come.
We finally arrive
walking into the house
full of expectations
We see the litter
all the dogs excited running about
Tails wagging joyfully
so happy to see new people
except for one dog
laying in the back scared
not used to new people
He came to me
calm steps, innocent eyes, loving personality
And at this moment I realized
This is the dog for me.
This is a very touching and great poem
ReplyDeleteKevin - I really like the happy mood of your poem especially in the end. I am not a dog owner, but this poem allowed me to relate to one. I like your formatting too - it flows. It would have been cool if you had a picture of your dog.
ReplyDeleteI like how your poem makes everyone happy
ReplyDeleteI can really relate to this poem because I felt the same way when I was getting my dog. You use a lot of emotion, which makes it very relatable
