Can love be love?
Or do we continue to have segregations that we cannot rise above.
These priests on the streets say they are truth preaching homosexuality is a choice
When really all they’re quoting is a 3000 year old voice
And all the feelings of inhumanity they make these “wrongdoers” live through
And they say it’s in the name of goodness and love for God!
Man, if only that were true.
They say it’s a sinful choice, a disgrace
Down under in Uganda, being gay will you get you shot up without even a court case
It’s sickening to watch, because of love these people are “sub-human”
Just looking at two men cuddling will make a “loving priest” start fuming.
And can you tell me how all this is in the name of love when all it brings is hate
In fact it takes away love all together because you hear more and more fathers saying
“My darling daughter, find yourself a nice boyfriend, it’s a sin to love your friend Kate.”
Now for all of you preachers and priests out there, I never meant to offend you or your kin.
It’s just that love is love, and that’s all I believe in.
Powerful rhyming and poetic technique. Enjoyed reading and listening to your poem.
ReplyDeleteYou did a really good job with your rhythm and rhyming in your poem. And you presented it really well with lots of emotion.
ReplyDeleteYou managed to use rhyme in a non-"sing-song-ey" way and it added a lot to the poem. Your presentation was also amazing.
ReplyDeleteI had to come back and comment on this poem, I honestly loved it. The part talking about her friend Kate especially, it's a line that really hits you. You're an amazing writer.
