Prompt E:
The relationship between Juliet and her parents is not one made of love, but rather made of respect and obedience. Lord and Lady Capulet both have a distant relationship with Juliet, they do not really parent Juliet and have someone like the Nurse take care of her. The Nurse is more like a mother to Juliet than Lady Capulet is because the Nurse has taken care of Juliet from a young age and can therefore be Juliet's confidant. In addition, both Lord and Lady Capulet seem like to only care about what they want for Juliet and not what Juliet wants for herself, making them an enforcer rather than caring and understanding parents.

Act 2 Scene 4: Mocking Mercutio
Prompt C:
When the Nurse accidentally says the word "confidence" instead of "conference", it changes the entire meaning of the sentence and Mercutio, who is always ready to mock someone, jumps at the opportunity. He sings: "An old hare hoar, And an old hare hoar, Is very good meat in Lent. But a hare that is hoar Is too much for a score When it hoars ere it be spent". Not only does this show how much Mercutio enjoys mocking other people, it also shows how he is very provocative and likes to create conflicts. This may foreshadow how he is going to die later, by provoking someone into killing him.

ACT 1 SCENE 1: ROMEO, A TODDLER AT HEART
Prompt D

Romeo reminds me of a toddler because of their tendency to become sad when they don't get what they want. Romeo is also like a toddler in the sense that a toddler starts by liking a toy, but upon seeing something that is better, drops what he is holding and wants the better toy.

The Good Ol' Times
The Good Ol' Times
Stepping out of the coughing and rumbling car,
I stand upon the dusty road of PuDong Shanghai.
I feel like a pig being roasted alive on a revolving spit,
The cement frying the soles of my feet
and the sun searing my skin red.
I flounder inside my house.
Weary from travel,
I slump upon my old bed like a sack of potatoes.
The familiar green walls clad in childhood pictures greet me,
They make me nostalgic.
The images remind me of the good ol’ times.
Swimming with my friends and playing fetch with my dog.
The carefree days of my youth,
No homework, lower expectations…
They are all gone now.
My dog met her merry end,
And my best friends are scattered around the word
like Lays chips in a bag
But it is that time of year again,
Summer holidays,
and I experience the carefree days of my youth again.Audio recording software >>
