Act 2, Scene 2: A Metaphorical Night

Prompt D

The moon and the stars are used throughout the scene by Romeo and Juliet to speak of their love. It is a good representation of their love because it shows how quickly they fell in love that they are already declaring their love to each other. Romeo compares Juliet's eyes to the stars, and he is about to swear by the moon that he loves her, but Juliet says that the moon is inconstant, and she doesn't want their love to be inconstant. It is night while Romeo and Juliet are talking, but they are also talking metaphorically, to represent their love.

  1. This is a perfect representation of the scene where Romeo compares Juliet. The description is also very well written.
