Friar and Romeo seem to have a special relationship. Although Friar is of a lower class, Romeo seems to feel really close to him. When Romeo realizes he is in love with Juliet he goes to Friar and asks him to marry them. If this was anyone else they would inform Lord Montague and make sure Romeo doesn't speak to Juliet but I think that Friar knows what it feels like to be a teenage boy and in love. Though Friar knows that The Capulet's and The Montague's have had problems for centuries, he is a little hesitant to marry them at first but he is glad to see that Romeo isn't depressed over Rosaline.
Romeo: As mine on hers, so hers is set on mine,
And all combined, save what thou must combine
By holy marriage. When and where and how
We met, we wooed, and made exchange of vow
I'll tell thee as we pass, but this I pray,
That thou consent to marry us today
